This is literally the ideal getaway – an entire island exclusively for your use. And it’s not like you’ll have to go native and live the hard life! No sir, these private island resorts come with every convenience and comfort known to man. If you have the desire to steal away from prying eyes with your family or close friends for a while, and if you have a cushy bank balance to finance your getaway, here are the best private islands that money can rent:

Necker Island, British Virgin Islands: Originally built as a luxury getaway resort for rich playboy Richard Branson, this island is now open to those who can afford its asking price of $30,000 per day. It accommodates up to 26 guests in Balinese style homes equipped with luxuries of every kind. (pictured above)

Nygard Cay, Bahamas: With its Mayan style of architecture, this island boasts tree houses besides the usual set of luxuries for the rich and famous. Available for rent at a cool $42,000 a day.

Musha Cay, Bahamas: This little baby will set you back by as much as $63,000 a day if you’re interested in hopping ashore for some fun and relaxation. As many as 18 people can live in this 150-acre paradise with both plantation houses and beachfront villas.

The Isla de sa Ferradura, Spain: If you have $33,000 to shell out a day, this island resort is your cup of tea. Warm climes and hacienda style living make this vacation proposition irresistible for the wealthy.

Isla Bonita, Brazil: Get a taste of the famed South American sunshine, flora, fauna and beaches here for $10,000 per week for a group of ten or less.

Mnemba Island Lodge, Zanzibar: Set off the coast of Africa, this island boasts individual cottages for accommodation and water sports for the adventurous. Available at either $1,000 a day per person or $20,000 for the entire island.

Vahine Island, French Polynesia: A small island that rents for around $10,000 a day, including transfers and flights, this paradise has both oceanfront and over-water bungalows to accommodate the jet set crowd.

Kamalame Cay, Bahamas: Another great location in the Bahamas, this island resort welcomes you with beach houses and lazy hours filled with sunbathing and relaxation. Rents out at $9000 per day and accommodates up to 40 guests.
